The most active organisations and mentors of the Integrity Academy were awarded

On the International Anti-Corruption Day, which is observed on 9 December, the event to commemorate the first anniversary of the establishment of the initiative Integrity Academy was held in the Palace of the President of the Republic of Lithuania. Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania, Žydrūnas Bartkus, Director of the Special Investigation Service (SIS), the partners of the initiative, as well as the most active organisations and mentors of the initiative participated in the event.

‘Our goal is to have less corruption and more transparency in our environment, in our organizations, across the country. I am grateful to you for the fact that you understand creating an environment resistant to corruption as your civic and patriotic duty. You dedicate your time, knowledge and invaluable experience to that. The Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) has already noticed positive changes in Lithuania. The new version of the Law on Prevention of Corruption, that has been adopted, is very encouraging’, – said the President.

‘We are pleased by the fact that the initiative of the Integrity Academy has been successful, and as many as 37 participants, who want to create the environment in their institutions and organisations that is resistant to corruption, have already joined it. We are particularly grateful to the mentors of the initiative, who dedicate their time and share experience and expertise. I believe that the Project will last for many years, and new mentors and participants will join the initiative’, – said Žydrūnas Bartkus, Director of the SIS.

The first year of the activities of the Integrity Academy has been reviewed during the event, also good examples of transparency initiatives and the results of the first Anti-Corruption Hackathon in Lithuania have been presented at the event. The most active participants and mentors of the Integrity Academy and the organisations most involved in the Project have awarded at the event.

Three the most active participants of the Integrity Academy – the Department of Environmental Protection under the Ministry of Environment, UAB Klaipėda Region Waste Management Centre, and the Disability and Working Capacity Assessment Office under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour were awarded ‘For the biggest ambitions to improve’.

Three the most active mentors of the initiative – Gintarė Rastenė, Aurimas Kudūkis, Head of Risk Management Unit at Vilniaus šilumos tinklai, AB, and Aurimas Navys, Head of Corporate Security at Ignitis Group, AB have been honoured ‘For the light emitted and inspiration’.

Three organisations that are the most involved in the activities of the initiative – Ignitis grupė, AB, Vilniaus šilumos tinklai, AB, and the Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration have been awarded ‘For the biggest contribution to change’

The most active participants and all mentors of the Integrity Academy have been given certificates of acknowledgment of the President of the Republic of Lithuania. c

The most active mentors and the organisations most involved in the activities of the initiative also have been given symbolic awards of the Integrity Academy.

‘The Integrity Academy is a place for the exchange of good anti-corruption practices where the most experienced transparency standards experts with the highest competence share their experience and advice on how to create in the organistion an environment resistant to corruption. The Integrity Academy’s exchange of good practice is initiated by the President of the Republic of Lithuania, the initiative is organised by the SIS. Currently, the Integrity Academy unites 37 participants and 19 mentors. During the year, the initiative has organised 14 events of sharing good anti-corruption practices and of methodological assistance, that were attended by more than 3,300 participants.
